Oasis Sale’e Porcus, The Paradise of Pink Flamingos

Flying over the south – east coast of Sardinia, direction to Oristano, at some point the view is captured by a body of water in the middle of Sisin’s hills. We are near the pond of Oasis Sale’e Porcus, a wetland of great naturalistic interest that several migratory birds, including pink flamingos, have chosen as a resting place on their long journey. Ideal destination for nature lovers, a show particularly appreciated by the little ones.

The Oasis is the ideal habitat for pink flamingos, the waters are populated by a variety of marine fauna. The rocks are occupied by lobsters, lobsters and sea cicadas.

Where is the Oasis Sale’e Porcus located?
At the narrowest point of the Peninsula Capo Mannu, in West Coast Sardinia, we can admire it Oasis Sale’e Porcus. Starting from Putzu Idu, take the coast road towards East with directions to Riola Sardo or San Vero Milis (municipality to which this oasis belongs) to find it just before arriving at the inhabited center. To his position just behing S’Arena Scoada beach, a few minutes from the Putzu Idu town and the Mandriola fishermans port, must be one of the reasons for its great charm.
